Havel: A towering moral figure

The death of playwright and former Czech president Vaclav Havel marks the passing of one of the towering moral figures of our age.
At a time when the world seemed to be on the brink of nuclear war and half of Europe was under totalitarian rule, Mr Havel held out hope of peaceful change.
For anyone much under 40 the post-1945 division of Europe is something that belongs to a bygone era.
