Good luck, Ireland
This weekend Irish sports fans will be cheering on our national soccer and rugby teams. Trap's men take on minnows Andorra this evening. A win would leave them within touching distance of at least a play-off place for next year's European Championship finals.
Tomorrow morning it is the turn of the rugby team who, in what is probably our most important match of the professional era, take on Wales in the World Cup quarter-final. A win against the Welsh would see us advance to the semi-final for the first time. After the disappointment of the 2007 World Cup Irish sports fans will be willing on Declan Kidney's team.
As our economic fortunes have nosedived, the sports fields have been one of the few sources of good news with Irish sides consistently over-achieving. No matter how bad things have got, the men in the green shirts have consistently done us proud.
