Give parents a say on education
RUAIRI Quinn, the Labour education spokesman and a long-time campaigner for multi-denominational education, has summed up admirably the import of documents submitted by the Catholic Church to the Department of Education.
The documents suggest that the church has hardened its line on the transfer of schools out of the control which it holds at present. It had previously been thought that it was willing to compromise.
According to Mr Quinn, "this is the church-state battle line that the next government will face."
