Ghost estates must be tackled

That it has taken the death of two-year-old toddler Liam Keogh to focus government attention on the problem of ghost estates is nothing short of a national scandal.
Ever since the property bubble burst five years ago the problem of unfinished housing estates has been clear for all to see but successive governments chose to do virtually nothing.
One of the legacies of the Irish housing bubble is over 2,000 ghost estates.
