G20 must close gap in wealth

THE economic crisis which, at times, feels so immediate and domestic, is worldwide, and the fate of our own relatively small economy is inevitably dependent on how the global community of nations manage to generate growth.

The international economic crisis has revealed how inextricably linked are the economies of the world.

The hand of responsibility, therefore, lies heavily on the shoulders of the leaders of the G20 group of rich and emerging economies, as they meet in Canada this weekend to discuss how to handle the recovery from the global economic crisis.
