Famous apology a fitting memorial

Gusty Spence spent 18 years in prison after his conviction for the murder of a young Catholic in West Belfast in 1966.

He was also suspected of the murder of another Catholic in an earlier attack by his organisation, the Ulster Volunteer Force.

These incidents were overshadowed by the more spectacular events of 1969 and 1970.
