Dail reform is full of holes

IF we have learned anything since the Dail and the Seanad rose for the summer it is that it's very important to our public representatives that they be able to claim their full and entitled expenses.
Continuing on that theme, the Oireachtas Commission in charge of a new "clocking in" system has decreed that each TD and senator will only have to prove that he or she has attended the Dail for 120 days a year to claim full travel and accommodation allowances, worth up to €37,000.
If they play truant for the remaining 30 days of the decreed 150, it won't matter; they will be entitled to the full allowances.
