THE concern and frustration being felt by health workers in the West is a symptom of recession coupled with poor management of resources in the years when the Government had more revenue than it could count.
The HSE speaks of eliminating absenteeism and redeployment of head office staff, but there are fears that frontline services will be adversely affected.
Indeed, a HSE official confirmed yesterday that there will be closures of wards and theatres.
