Blood on the diamonds
It has taken celebrity witnesses to bring a brutal and bloody chapter in African history into sharp focus. Naomi Campbell and Mia Farrow are at odds over what exactly happened at a party in September 1997. It was attended, among others, by Charles Taylor, the former president of Liberia, who is accused of war crimes.
Among the allegations are that he used diamonds to fund brutal rebels in Sierra Leone's civil war between 1996 and 2002.
Ms Campbell claims she did not know who gave her a present of some of those 'blood diamonds' at the party.
