Biggest deficit is Berlin leadership

Germany dominates Europe, to the extent that some of the country's own thinkers fear the emergence of "a new German imperialism".
But the country's economic dominance is not currently matched by political leadership.
Last week, Chancellor Angela Merkel warned of a "domino effect" if Greece, now on the brink of bankruptcy, defaults on its debts and leaves the euro.
