At long last, a reason to rejoice

Seldom have we been more in need of something to lighten the gloom. The weekend brings us a partial antidote.

This evening, the GAA willl mount a double-header in Croke Park: Dublin versus Kerry and Kildare versus Tyrone. Few need reminding that the first will be a repeat of a thrilling all-Ireland final (though perhaps with a different outcome).

Aside from the quality of play, everyone can rejoice at the admission prices -- €13 for adults, €5 for children. The organisation has had some bad publicity lately over violence at football matches. This stroke shows that it still keeps its finger on the public pulse.
