THE healing power of Lord Saville's diligence and David Cameron's contriteness was quick to take effect. Crowds applauded Protestant church leaders as they entered the Bogside yesterday to meet relatives of Bloody Sunday victims.
The Church of Ireland Bishop of Derry and Raphoe, Ken Good, welcomed what he said was a new opportunity to heal differences.
He said the prime minister's apology had lifted a cloud that had hung over the city for 38 years.
