Health in Ireland is a bore at the moment. It's in the news every day - and not in a good way. There are the waiting lists, trolley counts, inquiries and HIQA investigations. The list is endless.

Even as a GP - a so-called frontline medic - I am sorely tempted to turn off the news when a health segment comes on, as it's almost guaranteed to be negative.

I decided to write this because I got so fed up listening to news and waffle about how to fix the health service.
