Eight years ago, Audrey Fitzpatrick’s teenage daughter disappeared in Spain, where the family had moved in 2004. Coverage and controversy ensued, here and in Spain.

Local police activity was intense, but no useful clues were ever found. Still missing to this day, Amy Fitzpatrick must be assumed to be dead. That’s a tragedy for any family, any mother.

A few years later, Audrey’s son Dean, as he came into his twenties, suffered serious mental illness, involving suicidal thoughts and self-harming. Those problems were not resolved.
