The announcement from the World Health Organisation, linking processed meats to cancer isn't anything new. In fact, it's been something we have been aware of for years.
We've known that the western diet - which is high in meat and fat - is associated with a greater risk of certain forms of cancer.
By contrast, diets from other parts of the world are lower in fat.
