Peter Bills: Pumas' failings not helped by poor display of refereeing
Argentina hardly begin international rugby matches with the likes of Mike Gibson, Tony O'Reilly, Gareth Edwards, Barry John or Jo Maso in their back-line.
Inept would be a kind word to describe a set of Pumas three-quarters who can't time a pass, can't offload, can't find a single cutting line and couldn't discover space if they made a one-man mission to the moon.
But by comparison with South African referee Mark Lawrence, the Argentinian players outside the scrum were geniuses. Lawrence, who has had a bad 2010 as a Test match official, was poor. How an international referee can be so utterly shocking defied belief, never mind credibility in the entire refereeing system.
