Schmidt admits he's 'not driven to be a head coach'

He's never been a head coach and the two great triumphs of his coaching life have been alongside his Kiwi mate Vern Cotter. What's more, Joe Schmidt admits that he is confronting a very different role as Leinster's new coach.

"I am not driven to be a head coach or anything else," says Leinster's new leading man. "I just enjoy what I do."

New Zealander Schmidt was talking from his French base about the post he will take over from Michael Cheika in Dublin in a few weeks' time. For a start, he agonised at some length over whether to take the job at all.
