'Being Gerry Adams' right-hand bear is hard work sometimes'

Eilis O'Hanlon

Monday: Being Gerry Adams' right-hand bear is hard work sometimes. Today he was all for getting on a plane and heading over to the British Labour Party conference in Liverpool to congratulate Jeremy Corbyn on his re-election as leader.

A bearded 60-something leftie stuck in the past, with legions of fan girls and boys cheering his every utterance - I simply can't imagine what Gezza sees in him...

One thing they do have in common is that Jeremy has as much chance of becoming UK prime minister as Gerry does of being Taoiseach.
