With the race to secure a seat in the 32nd Dáil now in overdrive, promises from all sides on the prospective new government hang in the air.

Back in 2011, the now-dissolved Government made many such big ticket pledges. It vowed allegiance to the Irish people, and vowed to increase employment and implement better standards in the health sector. It also committed to ending one of the most pressing issues we face in this election - the shocking lack of social housing.

As voters within a democratic society, we decide who is best suited to fine-tune our society to make it more just for all.
