Following the slide in oil prices in recent months the spectre of deflation is finally beginning to take hold and strike fear into most developed economies and some others beside.

They scurry helplessly into the arms of their Central Banks in the hope they will flex their monetary might by cutting interest rates in a bid to fend off currency speculators while trying to stimulate their economies.

Currency wars are alive and well and Irish exporters need to avoid getting caught in the crossfire of currency fluctuations and protect their hard-earned margins.
