Hospital visits offer best chance for prison break

We've all seen the movies where the criminal try to dig their way out of prison, get smuggled out in the laundry or have an accomplice blew up the door. It all seems very dramatic but in reality the most obvious opportunity for a 'prison break' is a hospital visit.

Every day scores of inmates in Irish jails are transported under escort for scheduled appointments in the same way Derek Brockwell was brought to Tallaght on Tuesday.

But Brockwell had no armed escort despite being classified as an flight risk.
