Here we call it pull. When a TD gets a job for his wife or sister or cousin, say, in the Dail. To have pull in Ireland means you have to have clout to get a job or an "in" somewhere.

It's called nepotism everywhere else, and it's what Donald Trump has been accused of when it comes to his daughter, Ivanka. Trump's elder girl and second child has been described as her father's most influential adviser, and this week it was revealed just how much he hangs on her every word.

According to an interview with The Daily Telegraph, Eric Trump said he is "sure" that his sister encouraged their father to carry out the strike at the Syrian airbase after more than 80 people were killed, including children, in a chemical weapons attack.
