Brick-by-brick, we want to become the best education system in Europe

St Brigid's in the Liberties is defined by my department as one of the most disadvantaged schools in the country.

Yesterday, along with the Taoiseach, John Halligan and I visited this amazing primary school in Dublin's south inner city, met the fantastic teachers, visited their classrooms, took part in their lessons, listened to their choir and met hundreds of young boys and girls starting out in life.

Some of these young people have not, by birth, been given the same opportunities that so many of the rest of us have been lucky to have.
