It was widely reported during the week that Ervia boss Michael McNicholas told the MacGill Summer School in Donegal that he wasn't sure if Irish Water would even exist following the forthcoming general election.

Hundreds of thousands of consumers will certainly be hoping that Irish Water will, well, evaporate.

But did the Ervia chief say it? "No, I didn't, absolutely not," he told the Irish Independent.
