Everybody's bluff has been called. No teacher wants to be on the picket line today and no government wants to be faced with headlines about industrial strife.

Yet here we are after days of talks at the highest levels and none of our political or union leaders can come up with a solution.

In government circles though the real concern is focused on next week.
