Royals must find explosive edge to surge past Armagh

The Channel 4 commentary nailed it in describing Kingman's win over Toronado in the Sussex Stakes at Goodwood on Wednesday.
"It was the surge against the explosion and the explosion won out."
After their insipid display against Dublin in the Leinster SFC final, a bit of surge mixed with some explosion is what Meath need in their All-Ireland football qualifier against Armagh at Croker tomorrow.
Or a bit of fight, as Tomas O Se would say. There was no need to hammer home that point when I spoke with Meath captain Kevin Reilly at a GAA media gig this week. They had already asked the hard questions of themselves.
As for their opponents Armagh? Kevin Dyas was alongside Reilly for the photos. And with an instruction not to do any interviews, there was just the explosive sound of silence.
