Kenny will go, but unlike Van Gaal, he will choose when

YoU have to wonder about Enda Kenny's declaration that he intends to serve the "full term" as Taoiseach. Unless of course, the "full term" involves the 32nd Dáil lasting only a matter of months - and if somebody doesn't get a hold of things pretty quickly, that can't be ruled out.

It was inevitable that once Kenny was returned as Taoiseach, he would embed his position at the helm of his party - possession being nine-tenths of the law in politics.

But, as he acknowledged last week, that doesn't extend to him leading Fine Gael into another election - the debacle of the February campaign clearly rules that out.
