Is there anyone in politics willing to tell it like it is?
So many political groupings and yet, somehow still, so little to choose from. Learning lessons from the crash? Don't make me laugh.
We now have at least nine groupings in the Dáil (frankly, life's too short to follow the exact to-ing and fro-ing). And all of them - repeat 'all of them' - fall into the same trap that got us into the terrible mess in the first place. They are all telling us what we want, rather than what we need, to hear.
The Social Democrats are just the latest example with their version of the year of living Danishly. Personally, I'd love if Ireland was more like Denmark or Sweden - a society based on sustainability, environmental values, good urban planning and brilliant public services.
