An endorsement from a British prime minister for a Taoiseach seldom wins hearts and minds with the Irish electorate (with the possible exception of Tony Blair's backing for Bertie).

But David Cameron has so many problems of his own at the moment that he has been grateful for any support from across the Irish Sea.

Enda did the decent thing earlier this year in cheering on Dave in his struggle to win a European formula that would avoid 'Brexit', so it's little surprise that Cameron came up with that letter wishing Kenny "Good luck!"
