Readers have been asking why this column is refusing to write about the election. The answer is simple: I loathe our political classes.
I despise their pious mumbo jumbo, their moral evasiveness, their silliness, their posturing, their humbug, their ineptitude, their vainglory and their consensual sanctimony on the Blessed Trinity of Irish Political Identity -- Third World Aid, Neutrality, and No Nuclear Power.
This trinity cannot be discussed, questioned, dissected or analysed, though all three present serious philosophical challenges to any adult appreciation of our future.
