The bread and circuses of Ivor Callely's expenses might have provided us with a pleasant summertime diversion.
However, the latest episode of Anglo Irish, the bank which cannot say no to the taxpayer, should warn us that if we are not very alert this may be the summer where we carried on fooling ourselves until it was too late.
