We badly need builders to start building again. It doesn't have to be that difficult

History teaches us that we have a housing crisis in this country in or about every 20 years.

The last one was round about the turn of the millennium when a burgeoning population, increased prosperity and returning migrants put huge pressure on housing supplies. Well, they fixed that one - not wisely but too well.

There followed the bubble and the production of some 80,000 houses per year - now we are back where we were round about the year 2000.
