Newly elected TDs will be in no hurry to go to polls again

One in four of the Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael TDs who sat in on their first parliamentary party meeting yesterday was a first-timer.
In the case of Fianna Fáil, the newcomer weighting was more pronounced, with 19 out of 44 TDs being brand new at Leinster House. That represents 43pc.
In Fine Gael, given the tough election it had and heavy losses sustained, just seven of its 50 TDs were first-timers. That is 14pc.
