Old-school liberal Hentoff will be missed

So, farewell then, Nat Hentoff, who has died at the ripe old age of 91.

Hentoff was the quintessential New York writer - quick-witted, a lover of jazz, someone who saw racism as a form of evil stupidity and one of the great liberals of his age.

He was also a staunchly pro-life atheist.
