Okay – when did we become a nation of rats?

You may recall yesterday's iSpy – wadda ya mean ya didn't read it? – and the case of Darren Scully, the former Fine Gaeler who has been allowed back into the party after becoming embroiled in a ludicrous race row, and the Labour TD who went to the police to complain about him.

It was, I felt then and feel now, an act of cynicism wrapped in a blanket of racial tolerance and political correctness. It was also, I felt then and I feel now, the act of a guttersnipe.

Because we all, from the time we were children, have a natural aversion towards tattle tales.
