Ian O'Doherty: Why I still hail taxi drivers...

Take One -- I'm in a taxi going from Talbot Street to Terenure. I'm happily reading a book and minding my own business when I look out the window -- to see that I'm in bloody Donnybrook.
The driver tries to get bolshy when I point out that we're going the wrong way, a row ensues and when I refuse to pay the cost of the journey so far he threatens to call the cops.
Take Two -- My Grandmother has just died and I need to get to the funeral home in Clonsilla to help my uncles with the arrangements.
