Ian O'Doherty: Well it proves one thing . . .
The WikiLeaks controversy has certainly been illuminating -- for all the wrong reasons. The idea that a complete weirdo like that guy Julian Assange could cause extreme panic at the very top of the American government is quite remarkable, even though most of the revelations revolve around little more than diplomatic tittle tattle.
But it has been interesting to see how his defenders have bought into the notion that all information must be free for all to use, regardless of how many lives it may endanger.
And while I'm not in the habit of calling for the assassination of someone, surely Assange is a prime candidate.
