By now, you will have read the horrifying details of a crime committed by a thug called Robert Maguire.

Maguire viciously assaulted his former partner, but the phrase 'viciously assaulted' doesn't fully encapsulate the sheer depravity of the assault, which involved him spitting on her before kicking her in the genitals and launching a sustained attack. In one of the more distressing aspects to an already distressing case, the attack took place while her children screamed from the other side of the locked bedroom door.

A woman beaten so badly that she admitted it feels like a life sentence from which she will never recover, traumatised children who were forced to listen to their mother being beaten to within an inch of her life - all at the hands of a small, insecure, violent loser.
