Ian O'Doherty: Can anyone tell me why we're such a filthy people?
So, there I am on Tuesday, walking the pooches on a lovely spring morning around our local green.
The flowers are blooming, the sun is shining, the grass has just been cut so there's that lovely smell in the air and that freezing bloody wind that's been dogging us for the last few days has abated for a while and it's actually . . . warm. Ah, the simple bliss of having a leisurely walk.
It is, all in all, a very agreeable way to start the day before going into work and one which allows you to forget all the grief and angst that has been hanging over the nation like a cloud for the last while.
