Hicks' mockery needed now more than ever

As I said in the main piece, mockery is a useful tool and laughter is the sound that tyrants and dictators and all bullies hate the most.

In a lifetime of laughing my ass off at the great comedians, from a childhood introduction to Bob Newhart through the likes of Richard Pryor, George Carlin and, of course, the great Joan Rivers, nobody has ever made me laugh quite like Bill Hicks (above).

Seeing him live in the Tivoli back in the early 1990s was, quite simply, the most amazing night of my life.
