Do as she says, not as she does

Monday May 18 2009

The levels of jet-fuelled hypocrisy shown by the Religious Right over Bristol Palin is truly jaw-dropping.

Bristol, you may recall, slightly went against her mother's family-values ticket by becoming a teenage mother, and rather than being condemned by American conservatives for having a child out of wedlock, she was lauded for not having an abortion, which was an interesting piece of double-think.

Now, Bristol has a new job -- she's fronting an abstinence campaign to American teenagers.

Says the new 'Abstinence Ambassador': "I do think abstinence is realistic. It's the harder choice. But it's the safer choice. It's the only way to ensure you don't become pregnant."

Um, check this in comparison to her answer on CNN last month when asked whether abstinence is realistic? "No, it's not realistic at all."

Two conflicting ideas in the one brain -- looks like she takes after Mommy Dearest.

AW, HOW CHARMING ...

Nadya Suleman, aka Octomom, aka Octonut, is one strange woman. Suleman -- or, 'shameless hussy' as ISpy's Mammy might say -- has said she's drawing the line. She won't accept a free tummy tuck.

Now, she hasn't actually been offered a free tummy tuck.

But just to set the record straight, she contacted US magazine to say that she doesn't want one because: "I want to do things naturally."

Which is a bit rich coming from a mother of 14 kids who got them through massive doses of IVF.

But she has another announcement to make: "What's going on now is I feel obligated -- almost compelled -- to earn a living for my kids."

Wow, she feels 'almost compelled' to earn a living for her kids? Truly, she is the greatest mother in the world. But she still doesn't want that free tummy tuck, no sirreee Bob.

OH FOR THE LOVE OF GOD

So, have you had your fill of being offended by Jonathan Ross?

Wossy made a crack about how any young boy who wants a Hannah Montana MP3 player would, on balance, probably be gay. Cue predictable outrage, with one whinger saying to Pink News: "What does this say to young people who are gay? This might encourage playground bullying."

Listen luv -- if you're a 12-year-old boy with a Hannah Montana MP3 player, you're gonna get bullied.

Not because you might be gay -- but because you're a 12-year-old boy with a Hannah bloody Montana MP3 player.
