Trump could learn a lot about political survival from wily old Kenny

Soon we will notice a bit of a stretch in the evenings, and before we know it we will be in the run-in to the annual shamrock shindig in the White House.

We also know it will be a bit different this time round. Indeed, there will be some apprehension on our side as to what will be the mood of the moment when Enda Kenny does the needful with US President Donald Trump.

There is the not unimportant matter that the Taoiseach backed Hillary Clinton in the election. We must also be aware of The Donald's oft-expressed warning, that when brooding on those he feels have done him down, he neither forgives nor forgets.
