THE Taoiseach did not lie. He merely uttered a form of words that misrepresented the truth of the circumstances. Clever man, Mr Kenny. And next Thursday our clever Taoiseach will attend an emergency meeting of the eurozone heads of government amid widespread fear that the euro and the eurozone, if not the EU itself, is on the brink of collapse.
In Brussels, Mr Kenny will be one clever man among many, all uttering forms of words that promise a way out of the economic chaos, while misrepresenting the truth of the circumstances.
