It was a day for settling the nerves for the Kerry GAA family yesterday -- both for those who basked in the balmy sunshine in Killarney and the wider audience on the airwaves.
After two league defeats, the departure of four of their biggest stars and uncertainty about the future of a couple of others, it has been a worrying time for Kingdom followers, but this decisive victory over Derry will prove therapeutic.
It was a far from vintage performance by the team as a whole and Derry themselves were almost completely devoid of scoring ideas -- apart from the Bradley brothers -- but what will have settled Kerry folk were the reminders of the sheer class that still abounds in the Kingdom panel.
