Time for RTE to review its 'softly, softly' stance on Sinn Fein
Every columnist needs a good critic. So I was grateful to get a cogent letter of complaint from John Leahy of Wilton in Cork.
He says I am harping on too much about Sinn Fein, that Fianna Fail did more damage to the country than Sinn Fein, whose threat I make too much of, and that I should go back to writing what he kindly calls my former "excellent" columns.
Let me reply in the same reasonable spirit. First, I agree with him in wishing I could stop writing about Sinn Fein, duty not desire is what drives me.
