Eoghan Harris: Let's all pretend we can't see the beast
Last March, in my last speech to the Seanad, I made a prediction.
"If it continues with this large majority and still does not tackle the public sector, a few years from now it will be brought before the bar of public opinion and the verdict will be guilty."
Last week, Brendan Howlin did nothing to delay that day of reckoning. He pirouetted around public sector reform. But the public could see the Croke Park elephant held him firmly in its trade union trunk.
