Mad Men, the drama series currently running on RTE and BBC4, is fast achieving cult status. At first glance, its appeal isn't obvious.
Set in an advertising agency in the early 1960s, it has no big stars and no "big concept" like those at the centre of other hit series such as Heroes or FlashForward.
Yet its audience keeps growing, and the beginning of its second series was eagerly awaited by fans who needed their '60s fix.
