HOPE springs eternal, they say. Despite the fact that nearly 15 in every 100 people are out of work. And maybe 30 in every 100 young people.
We have got to be positive about the future of Ireland. Not because an American president says so. But because we know so ourselves. It is the only country we've got.
Yet there is a sickening feeling in the pit of people's stomachs right now. What kind of Ireland has been created for our sons and daughters? It is just as well that you cannot put an old head on young shoulders. If young people knew what a great opportunity we blew, it would hurt too much.
