Colm O'Rourke: Round up the usual suspects
This year's championship will see a lot of sparring before the real action begins in August, says Colm O'Rourke
In a way the phoney war is over and the real action is about to begin. Managers of counties who have made no sort of shape in the League can console themselves by at least half believing the League is only the League but the Championship is the thing.
Of course, the real truth is that there is a very direct link between both in most years. The good teams in spring remain so, and few of the early-season lambs are able to turn to wolves in summer.
Naturally the wish is for great games starting now and finishing in September. That won't happen but if there are as many good matches as last year then everyone should be happy.
