HOLDING on to health insurance is set to be one of the biggest challenges facing most families in 2014.

The cost of cover for the average family has doubled since the economy hit the buffers in 2008.

Prices have risen for a number of reasons. These include double-digit medical inflation, where new medications and new health technologies came at huge expense.
